Sick Policy for Employees
At the MCON Group of Companies, the health and safety of our employees are of utmost importance. In line with current CDC guidelines and to ensure a safe working environment for everyone, we have established the following sick policy for our employees:
- Self-Transportation:
- Employees who are experiencing symptoms of any respiratory illness (such as COVID-19, flu, bronchitis, etc.) are required to drive their own vehicle to the job site to avoid potentially spreading illness to others.
- CDC Guidelines and Recommendations:
- The CDC recommends (but does not require) that individuals with respiratory illnesses stay home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours.
- We strongly encourage you to stay home and use your FTO (Flex Time Off) if you are experiencing symptoms of a respiratory illness.
- Working While Symptomatic:
- If you choose to come to work while experiencing symptoms, you are required to wear a mask at all times until you are symptom-free.
- If you refuse to wear a mask while symptomatic, you will be required to go home and take FTO.
- COVID-19 Testing:
- You are not required to show a negative COVID-19 test result. We will rely on your honesty regarding your health status.
- Please note that you cannot be mandated to take a COVID-19 test by the company. If you were told to take one, it might have been a suggestion from a co-worker or manager, but it is not a company requirement.
- FTO and Sick Leave:
- In the state of Utah, there is no legal requirement to pay for sick leave. However, we offer FTO, which you can use if you need to take time off due to illness.
Our goal is to maintain a healthy work environment and to respect your personal health decisions while balancing the well-being of all employees. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
