Flex Time Off Policy
Built Exteriors offers Flex Time Off (FTO) to support employee well-being and encourage a healthy work-life balance. This policy outlines the eligibility, structure, and usage of FTO for full-time employees.
Eligibility and Anniversary-Based Grants
FTO is granted in full on the employee’s work anniversary date, based on tenure with the company:
- After 6 months of continuous full-time employment: 20 hours
- After 1 year: 40 hours
- After 2 years: 80 hours
- After 3 years and beyond: 120 hours
Employees who consistently work fewer than 40 hours per week while maintaining full-time status will receive a prorated FTO amount based on average weekly hours worked.
Usage Guidelines
- FTO may be used for vacation, personal time, or illness.
- Planned time off must be requested at least two weeks in advance.
- Emergency or sick time may be requested on shorter notice, subject to supervisor approval.
- FTO usage must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor or manager.
Rollover
Employees may carry over up to 40 unused FTO hours into the following calendar year. Any unused hours above this limit will expire at year-end.
Restrictions
- FTO is not paid out upon resignation or termination.
- FTO is not available once a resignation notice is submitted or after employment is terminated.
- Employees with active disciplinary actions or warnings may be ineligible to use FTO until further notice.
- Built Exteriors reserves the right to request documentation for FTO used due to illness or emergency.
FTO Request Process
All FTO requests must be submitted through the company’s designated time-off management system (e.g., busybusy. Instructions for submitting requests will be provided upon hire and updated as needed.
